Douglas Clayton recently concluded a four year term in Executive Leadership (as General Director/CEO and Executive Director/COO) at Chicago Opera Theater, completing a strategic turnaround of the organization and installing one of the industry’s only all-female executive leadership teams. He has spent his career in creative management and innovation-driven leadership positions, including work as a project-based stage director/producer and a decade at LA STAGE Alliance, a trade association for the performing arts of Greater Los Angeles.
He studied arts and business at the University of Southern California (USC) and Florida State University / Asolo Conservatory, and completed an Executive MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in July 2016.
In 2018 he was named to Crain’s Chicago Business Journal’s 40 under 40 list.
